Lucas Maumo Kisuya, a coach living with disability, has shown resilience and determination to defy his limitations and forge a coaching career. He has shown to be an inspiration those in his community and his efforts haven’t gone unnoticed as he recently received a visit from the Harambee Stars coach, Engin Firat, who made a donation from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to aide him in his coaching journey.

HisĀ  journey is a testament to the fact that one can achieve anything regardless of their physical limitations. Despite facing challenges, Lucas has never let it hinder his passion for football. Through his self-belief and will power, he pursued his dreams and now coaches Kisumu-based side, Desert Rangers that plays in the FKF Sub-County league.

Coach Engin Firat expressed his admiration for Lucas’s journey, stating, “Lucas’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the strength of the human spirit. His dedication to the sport and his ability to inspire others is truly remarkable. He is an example of what can be achieved when one believes in their abilities.”

Coaches Firat and his assistant coach Ken on behalf of Football Kenya Federation handed Lucas and his team with football equipment to aide them in their matches and training sessions. Acknowledging the support received, Lucas shared his gratitude by stating, “Thank you so much for being the kind of people who go out of their way to help others. You are a true inspiration to me, and I am grateful for all that you’ve done for me and my team. Your thoughtfulness has made a significant impact on our life, and I will never forget your kindness.”

Lucas Kisuya’s story is a source of hope for individuals living with disabilities, proving that disability does not define one’s potential. His journey serves as a reminder that there is hope even in the face of adversity.
