The cabinet Secretary for public service, Moses Kuria in partnership with FKF Central Region Zone is set to launch the inaugural Moses Kuria Peace Cup on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Kinoru Stadium, Meru.

The tournament brings together teams representing 66 constituencies, drawn from 11 counties each vying for the 5 million Kenya shillings prize money to be awarded to the tournament’s winner.

The runner-up will earn 3 million shillings while the second-runner up will earn 1 million. Furthermore, all participating teams will be given a grant of 100,000 shillings.

“As the NEC member of Central region, I thank the cabinet Secretary for public service Moses Kuria for prioritizing us. This funding could have been directed to other sports disciplines like volleyball, athletics or boxing but he opted for football and for that we are grateful,” said FKF National Executive Committee (NEC) Central region representative Davis Chege.

Participating teams have been placed in 8 groups with the winners and runners up automatically set set to proceed to the last 16 set to be played on April 27.

So far, three rounds of matches have been played with the last group matches to be played on April 13, 2024. The quarter finals will be staged on May 4-5, while semis scheduled to be between May 18 and 25.

The third place play-off and final matches are slated for June 2, 2024 at Afraha Stadium.
