Rodney Strikers U13 and U15, SJF, and Ladies Musa were crowned the 2023/24 FKF youth league champions in their different categories on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Baba Dogo Grounds in Nairobi.

In the U13 category, Rodney Strikers (Boys) and SJF (Girls) secured the bragging rights  after they mastered 1-0 scores against both their opponents, Kayole Youngsters (Boys) and ACAFOA (Girls) respectively, along with their counterparts in the U15 category, Rodney Strikers (Boys) and Ladies Musa (Girls), with the former beating  A 1000 Street Sportive (Boys) 1-0 and the latter beating Babadogo TIA 2-0

This marks the culmination of a comprehensive youth development program spearheaded by FKF across five centers in Nairobi: Baba Dogo, Kayole, Mukuru, Mbotela, and Starehe.

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, the 8 teams secured finals spots, with 4 in the U13 category and 4 in the U15 category, namely Rodney Strikers and Kayole Youngster in the U13 Boys category, and SJF and ACAFOA in the U13 Girls category. In the U15 category, 1000 Sportive and Rodney Strikers represented the Boys, while Ladies MUSA and Babadogo TIH represented the Girls.

FKF President Nick Mwendwa emphasized the significance of investing in youth development, stating, “We remain steadfast in our commitment to creating pathways for our young players to unlock their full potential. Youth development programs are the bedrock upon which the future of Kenyan football shall be built, and we shall continue to allocate resources to ensure their success.”

The Youth Leagues have already proven their effectiveness, with several players being scouted into the junior national teams, including James Gachago, Andreas Omondi, and Rajab Umar. These success stories serve as a testament to the federation’s efforts to identify and nurture emerging talent.
