Vickers Queens and Kakamega Starlets will face off in the final of the Women’s Division One playoffs after their respective victories over Fortune Ladies and Makolanders FC.

The playoffs, which began today, Friday, June 7, 2024, at Dandora Stadium, are part of the process to crown the overall winner of the Women’s Division One League. All zone winners from A to D have participated.

In the first match, Vickers Queens defeated Fortune Ladies with a strong performance. Luyali Josephine scored a brace, with her first goal coming in the 16th minute to put Vickers ahead. Lavender Odhiambo extended the lead in the 51st minute, and Josephine sealed the victory with another goal in the 80th minute.

The second match was an exciting contest between Kakamega Starlets and Makolanders FC, featuring end-to-end action. Despite numerous saves by Makolanders’ keeper Owendi Edah, Malina Gladwell found the back of the net in the 84th minute, securing the win for Kakamega Starlets.

The final of the Division One playoffs will take place tomorrow, Saturday, June 8, 2024, alongside the FKF Women National Super League (WNSL) playoffs.

The FKF WNSL showdown will feature two playoff matches. The early kickoff at 12 noon will determine which team secures the final FKF Women Premier League spot, between Kayole Starlet (second in Zone A) and KISPED Queens (second in Zone B).

The final match, scheduled for 3:00 PM, will decide the overall 2023/24 FKF Women National Super League Champions between Mombasa Olympic (Zone A champions) and Kisumu Allstarlets (Zone B champions). Both Mombasa Olympic and Kisumu Allstarlets will compete in the 2024/25 FKF Women Premier League season, having topped their respective zones with 38 and 31 points.
