Football Kenya Federation is in March this year, set to launch an elite U13 and U15 league in Nairobi.
Each league will be comprised of 12 teams and will bring together top academies from across Nairobi. The project will thereafter be rolled out in other parts of the country.
“We have a disparity in the quality of academies that take part in the FKF U13/15 leagues that are run by the sub-branches,” said FKF Youth Committee Chairman Chris Amimo.
“It is for this reason that we are intending to run an elite competitive league from where we can scout talent into the junior national teams,” he added.
The national U15 team has been drafted into the league.
